When people who aren’t from the DMV think about DC nightlife, LOVE nightclub always comes to mind. Formerly known as Dream back in the day, LOVE became the center of DC nightlife. I remember once all of my friends and I became 18, we had to make that trip to LOVE.
But over time, LOVE has become less appealing to those in their twenties and the audience has changed. I know most people in their twenties are now interested in going to smaller clubs and lounges, where they’re less crowded. After a stabbing at LOVE on New Year’s Eve and various violent events, the Alcohol Beverage Regulation Administration has decided to close the club indefinitely.
Honestly, will LOVE nightclub really be missed? I haven’t been to LOVE in years. The overcrowded atmosphere isn’t really appealing anymore. Unless you have an overpriced VIP table, it’s not really a good time. But I’m sure LOVE won’t be closed for long; like most clubs it will probably reopen under a different name. Even under a different name, I’m not sure if that venue will ever be as appealing as it was before. It just may be the end of an era.

honestly, i think the only people that might be losing out are the 18-21 yr olds. if you still frequent LOVE at the age of 25+….get a life. lol no but really, you KNOW its gonna open up under another name…just like it did last time. let’s just hope in the meantime those scraggles don’t make their way over to Park.

Yea I’m hoping they don’t make their way to Park. It’s already crowded and the last thing we need is the Park to start having 18+ nights!! No bueno!
