Big Tigger morning show1 Is The Big Tigger Morning Show Really Cancelled?

The first time we heard a dramatic announcement that Big Tigger was leaving WPGC, it turned out he was just leaving his 2pm time slot to become the host of his own morning show.  So of course today’s announcement caught me and the entire DC listening audience by surprise when we heard that WPGC decided to “free The Big Tigger Morning Show.”

The station played the announcement all day between songs and commercial breaks. The show is no longer listed online under “On-Air” and Big Tigger has not commented about the announcement via Twitter (he’s currently in Miami so if I were him I wouldn’t comment on it either).  He only favored a tweet that say “#F*CKWPGC.”

This isn’t the first time WPGC has made a random announcement only for it to be a marketing ploy. I think if the show was cancelled fans would’ve heard him talk about it all week, that’s assuming he was given ample notice.  When Donnie Simpson was going off the air, his audience was aware and each show was sort of like a countdown until the end.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if come Monday morning Big Tigger is back with a new co-host and a new morning show name. Then again, Danella was abruptly fired so who knows. I’ll guess we’ll have to tune in early Monday morning to find out.  If the show was indeed cancelled, this would’ve been the 2nd morning show cancelled and 4th radio personality that lost their job from the radio station.  Let’s hope this announcement was made for marketing purposes and Big Tigger is back on Monday. Otherwise, WPGC needs to get it together!
