If you follow me on twitter, you have seen me reference and retweet the hashtag #ImREDy numerous times over the past 7 days.   The #ImREDy Campaign is a movement started by Carmen Williams of GodMenandMoney.com, Naseya Minor of TheSeventhDistrict.com and Nikki Foster.

Last month, Carmen hosted a social experiment. She asked a number of her girlfriends to try MAC’s Ruby Woo lipstick. What she noticed was at first, like her initial reaction, a lot of the women were uncomfortable putting on red lipstick.   It’s one color we don’t wear often and a lot of us, including myself, don’t believe we look good in red lipstick.  Once her friends applied the lipstick and starred at themselves in the mirror for a few minutes, they loved the way they looked.  Hence #ImREDy was born!

For the month of December, Carmen, Naseya and Nikki are challenging us to step outside of our comfort zone, embrace our beauty and rock the bold red lipstick that makes of feel the most feminine!  No worries, if you’re uneasy about wearing red lipstick, you aren’t the only one. I spent the entire weekend searching for the perfect color considering I haven’t worn red lipstick in over 10 years. The last time I wore red lipstick I was under the age of 10 performing dance recitals; that was before I was old enough to choose my own makeup for recitals. But I digress…
