Actresses Gabrielle Union, Alfre Woodard, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Adepero Oduye and Goapele star in the short firm “The Door” directed by Ava DuVernay (she won at the Sundance festival for Middle of Nowhere). The film is the fifth installment of Miu Miu’s Women’s Tale series.
The film doesn’t feature any words, only music, but is a powerful example of sisterhood and strength. “In the film, characters arrive at the door of a friend in need, bringing something of themselves,” explains director DuVernay. “Eventually, we witness our heroine ready to walk through the door on her own. The door in the film represents a pathway to who we are.”
It’s a beautiful short film. Check it out:

Very interesting short film. Thanks for sharing it! I actually had all volume off so I am not sure if the music set the tone. Did the guy die or just leave?

Don’t know happened to the guy. However, I would suggest watching the film with the volume on. The music does help to set the tone.
