A few weeks ago, I was one of the guest speakers at the FEM-POW!ER MOVEMENT Love Your Life Tour event at Busboys & Poets in Hyattsville, MD. Guests received gift bags, enjoyed a continental breakfast and engaged in a discussion about self-actualization, personal style and personal finances.

During my presentation, I spoke to a group of 25 women about personal style which included how to develop a personal style, knowing that personal style is about more than just clothes, examples on how to incorporate one’s style into the workplace and much more! Following my presentation, I engaged in a question and answer session with the women in attendance; this served as an opportunity to not only ask me questions, but for the ladies to also share information with each other (for example, where to shop for plus size clothing, why some feel it’s beneficial to hire a stylist).

The event served as a great opportunity for women to come together and bond over the issues we all share: discovering who we really are, knowing our self-worth, understanding how to put our best foot forward (via wardrobe and attitude) and figuring how to put ourselves in a position of financial freedom.

It looks like a great time was had by all. Congrats on being a featured speaker at such a fab event. Enjoyed watching all of the interviews. I was like, “Yes!” when the one woman shared her age. And your advice to know your body type is so on point. I am trying, well not trying, I am going to bring events like this to the Pittsburgh area because we need them here.
