The First Lady arrived at the 2011 White House State Dinner, which welcomed Chinese President Hu Jintao, in a gorgeous petal print silk organza Alexander McQueen gown. I absolutely love his collections (I mean, who doesn’t) and she looks stunning. The color choice and pattern are very flattering. The full skirt was nipped and tucked for a nice silhouette allowing for a modern, Asian inspired twist while staying ball gown appropriate for the occasion.

According to Harpers Bazaar, the dress originally had sleeves, but the gown was modified to show off Michelle Obama’s best assets, her arms. Ladies take note; when shopping, always look for pieces that will show off your best assets!

This petal print silk organza dress is a part of the Alexander McQueen 2011 Resort collection. I hope to look this fly when I’m in my 40s!! Michelle Obama is a true Diva indeed!
