I always liked the song “Love On Top,”, but after seeing Beyonce perform this song at the MTV Video Music Awards, I fell in love with it even more!  In this video, King B channels New Edition; set in an empty studio, she is featured with a group of male singers/dancers.   The video is simple and fun.  Watching it will make up want to get up and sing/dance right along with her (or maybe that’s just me every time I listen to the song)!

What do you think of the video? Since she appears to be releasing a video for every song on the album, I wonder when we can expect to see a video for “Party.” Now that is my song!

Beyonce recently shot a video for her favorite song “1+1” from her new album 4.   According to Columbia, “1+1” is not an official single but it is the first of many videos which will be released to visually tell the story of 4.

This time around, she kept it simple but artistic. No choreography, no dancers and no leotards or short dresses. The video uses interesting visual to focus on the sensual side of Beyonce.

Despite other reviews, I liked the video. I thought it was beautiful.  I know many expected a storyline or something more because after all, it IS Beyonce.  However, due to the nature of the song and the live performances I’ve seen, I think this video is appropriate. With all of that being said, I do agree with one critique of the video though; it does look like an extended version of her Heat commercials!!

Beyonce released the new video for my favorite song off her her most recent album 4. I absolutely LOVE.THIS.SONG!  Beyonce is known for creating “women anthems” and I think this track may be another one to add to her list. 

In this video, we find King B reflecting on a high school boyfriend who treated her badly at prom; she ultimately finds true happiness and we witness her getting married in a fabulous wedding dress from Baracci Beverly Hills.  Her reception dress is of course none other than Vera Wang.

Since she’s so in love, I was hoping we’d see her getting married to her real husband!

If you haven’t done so already, please do yourself a favor and get your hands on a copy of the album 4.  As Beyonce stated during her Good Morning America performance, this time around she focused on creating good music and focus less on creating radio hits that we’re all so used to hearing. Not sure how much radio play she’ll get receive but the album is definitely good music.  And unlike past albums, this one focuses less on Sasha Fierce and we hear more of the true Beyonce. You can definitely tell she is happy and in love.

BTW – Anyone else hoping “Party” is the next video she releases with Kanye West & Andre 3000?  Now that’s a song that I can see being a summer jam! Nothing like a song to give us the feel of the 90s. That was an era of great music!

Now that Beyoncé has returned from her year hiatus, we can expect to see her EVERYWHERE this summer (magazines, blogs, entertainment shows, etc).  She recently teamed up with Dazed & Confused  Magazine for the July 2011 issue.  High fashion at its finest!

This album cover is so fierce!

Beyonce FINALLY release the video for her new single “Run The World (Girls).” For the past couple weeks she released teaser videos to get us all excited for the new video and what we can expect to be a summer full of Beyonce!! 

I finally watched the video this morning.   The choreography is HOT and the outfits are FIERCE, but due to a lack luster song, I won’t be rushing to dance in front of my television every time the video comes on like I would for “Single Ladies,” “Ego” and “Get Me Bodied.” 

While I’m not a huge fan of this single, I am looking forward to her upcoming album. After all, it is Beyonce and she doesn’t ever really disappoint.  Who knows, maybe “Run The World (Girls)” will grow on me. In the meantime, I’m anxious to hear other singles from the album. There has to be at least one song that will make my list of 2011 summer anthems!

When I was younger, my generation was active! We were playing sports, going to dance practice, etc. It was very uncommon for kids not be involved with a number of physical activities.  At some point over the years, things changed dramatically! Kids are less active and unhealthy.  Now we can not completely blame kids for their current state; there are  a lot of parents who are not providing healthy eating options for kids or encouraging them to become active.

First Lady Michelle Obama is on a mission for kids to live a healthier lifestyle through her “Let’s Move” Campaign.  In support of Ms. Obama’s fight against childhood obesity, Beyonce recently created a “Move Your Body” video.  The video is simple and fun. I watched the video and was ready to get up and move. Then again I always move when the “Get Me Bodied” comes on. Believe me, dancing to that song is definitely a workout!

While catching up on my Google Reader, I came across news about Rihanna’s new perfume. It looks like she is following in the footsteps of other celebrities (Beyonce and Mariah Carey) by launching her own perfume, Reb’l Fleur. The official launch is in February 2011, but the perfume is currently available at Macy’s.  The bottle is reminiscent of an upside down high heel and the scent is influenced by Rihanna’s childhood in Barbados featuring notes of tuberose, violet, hibiscus, and coconut water. I’m not surprised she has a new perfume coming out in a couple months; she’s an international entertainer so it was only a matter of time before she began to expand her brand.

I currently own Beyonce’s Heat and Mariah Carey’s first fragrance and I absolutely love them! I’m anxious to get my hands on Rihanna’s new fragrance. Will you try it when it comes out in February? Looks like this may be a great Valentine’s Day gift for the ladies.

Lady Gaga is back with her much anticipated new video “Telephone” featuring Beyonce.  In true Lady Gaga fashion, the video is filled with loud fashion styles, peculiar characters and lots of skin.  Oh yea, it’s also almost 10 minutes long too!
