J. Cole has released a new video for his single “Nobody’s Perfect” off of his Grammy nominated album Cole World: The Sideline Story. The song features a dope artist that has been missing from the music scene for a very long time; Missy Elliott! Directed by Colin Tilley, the video is a cool visual and Missy Elliott looks gorgeous!

Fingers crossed this is a sign Missy Elliott will release some new music soon!!

J. Cole released a video one of his most emotional songs on his album, “Lost Ones.”  The video was shot in 2008 when all J. Cole had was a “Dollar and a Dream.” The video (and song) sheds light on what a man and women go through when dealing with an unexpected pregnancy.  The video is very emotional and I’m sure there are a lot of people that can relate to this song.

I know most of my “looks we love” posts are of fashionista, but it doesn’t hurt to give the fellas some shine too! While catching up on the male lifestyle blog, The Smugger, I came across a “SMUGSHOT” of rapper J. Cole featured in GQ Magazine.

In the October 2011 issue of GQ Magazine, J. Cole is modeling four all-black military style leather bomber jackets.

Last night J. Cole released the video for his first single “Work Out” off his anticipated album Cole World: The Sideline Story which hits stores September 27th.  The song samples Kanye West‘s 2004″The New Workout Plan” and Paula Abdul’s 1988 “Straight Up.”

The video is simple;  while playing basketball he spots a woman who catches his eye.  He later meets up with her at a party.  I don’t know why, but the video quality reminds me of something we would’ve seen in the late ’90s or early ’00s. And I love it!

J. Cole has FINALLY released a video for the popular and sexy track “In The Morning” from his mixtape Friday Night Lights. I’ll admit I was very anxious to check it out because I LOVE this song! I appreciate the video because it tells a simple story of J.Cole meeting a girl, hanging out and ultimately leaving something behind.  Fortunately for us, he decided to not take the overly sexualized video approach!

The Roc Nation marketing/promotional team needs to step it up because we definitely need to see and hear more of J. Cole. He is an artist the rap game could definitely benefit from right now.

In the DMV, “All I Want Is You” is considered new music, although the song has been out in other markets for awhile now.  I heard this song the other day on my way home and all I can say is that I absolultely LOVE it! I was sitting in the car thinking to myself, “who is this? This is nice!” 

Between “Unthinkable” being played 500 times in one hour to every song off of Usher’s most recent album being played, it’s about time we hear new R&B on mainstream radio.  Along with this song by Miguel feat J. Cole, a lot of R&B singles have been released.  I’m looking forward to hearing what’s in store this fall!
