2011 BET Awards Best Dressed

The red carpet at award shows are what fashion lovers look forward to the most. We love checking out the various looks walk down the red carpet deciding who was HOT and who was NOT. This year’s 2011 BET Awards featured some very interesting fashions. While a number of looks were a disappointment, there were a few entertainers that stepped their game up and stood out amongst the crowd.

One celebrity who stood out at this year’s 2011 BET Awards was the fabulous Tracee Ellis Ross. She looked glamorous rocking a black/nude lace dress with her hair pulled back in a high, full ponytail, red suede pumps and minimal makeup. Then again, Tracee Ellis Ross can’t do any wrong in my book when it comes to her style choices. She always looks AMAZING, and the BET Awards were no different. I can’t wait to see her return to television this fall in her new show “Reed Between the Lines.” (Although, to all of us she’s always be Joan Clayton).

No matter what she wears, Kerry Washington always looks stunning and classy. As you all know, bright colors are a huge trend for the season. For this year’s 2011 BET Awards, Kerry Washington opted for a neon green thigh high slit dress paired with a black belt and black Louboutin pumps. Ms. Washington’s looks are the epitome of less is more!

Kelly Rowland

I’m wondering if this hot pink color is one of Kelly Rowland’s favorites because this is the second time we’ve seen her wear this color on the red carpet in the last two months. The color definitely looks great against her skin tone. She chose a short fitted pink Marchesa dress with ruffle detail paired with Jimmy Choo sandals. She is one artist who has definitely stepped her game up in terms of her fashion choices. And if you missed the show last night, please do yourself a favor and watch her perform “Motivation.” She WORKED IT!!!

Nia Long

Nia Long is one fabulous chick who always looks amazing! This is the first time we’ve seen her make a public appearance since announcing she was pregnant with her second child. Nia Long definitely had the pregnancy glow at last night’s award show. She wore a gorgeous white silk BCBGMAXAZRIA dress and silver metallic heels. The shape and style of this dress is perfect for a mom-to-be. This is what fabulous at 40 looks likes!

Tika Sumpter

TikaSumpter is another entertainer who has been turning heads on the red carpet and at various events. I love her looks! The actress arrived on the red carpet in a Hérve Léger Spring 2011 woven dress. She paired her dress with another hot trend this season, a bright color accessory in the form of an orange clutch. I must admit, while she does top the best dressed list for the 2011 BET Awards, there is one thing I would change: her shoes!!! I’d love to see her wear a lighter or colorful strappy sandal with this dress. Overall though, she looks great!

Each of these ladies’ looks is relatively simple, yet they all look stunning and classic without being too over the top! Who are your best dressed picks for the 2011 BET Awards?
