Rihanna is featured in the most recent issue of Harper’s Bazaar and rocking the sleekest designer looks. What I love about the feature is that she stepped away from the rockstar looks (although I do love them) to show off her softer side.
The Harper’s Bazaar August 2012 issue hits newsstands July 17th.

Ri Ri dropped a new video, “Where Have You Been?” from her latest album Talk That Talk. In this video, Rihanna shows off her dance moves, something we don’t normally see from her.

Werk Rihanna!! If you don’t have it, do yourself a favor and get your hands on a copy of Talk That Talk.
Drake finally released the highly anticipated video for his hit song with Rihanna, “Take Care.” I love this song so I’m glad the visuals for the track were finally released. It’s an simple, artistic video displaying the imitate, humble side of Drake.
If you don’t have the Talk That Talk album by now, I’d suggest you get it. I have listened to it non-stop for the past three weeks! So of course I was excited to find out this morning that Rihanna dropped a new video for her second single “You Da One.”
In the black and white video, Rihanna shows off her sex appeal (which isn’t heard for her to do) in a blonde wig, fishnets and a body suit. It’s definitely more simplistic than her “We Found Love” video but artistic none the less.

You all know by now that I love a video that tells a story! Rihanna did not disappoint with her newest video for “We Found Love.” The song is the first single off her upcoming album Talk That Talk. The video depicts Rihanna and her lover in an emotional, drug fueled romance. Those images really tell the story of how love can be just as addictive and destructive as drugs. Considering her romantic interest in the video played by model Dudley O’Shaughnessy rocks blonde hair for the video, many can’t help but wonder, is this video suppose to represent her old relationship with C. Breezy?

Not sure if I love the song, but the video is hot! And I’m so glad she is no longer rocking that red hair!!!!
I have been anxiously waiting for the “Man Down” video and it finally premiered last night on 106 & Park. I absolutely LOVE this song; “Man Down” is definitely an anthem for this summer. The song is about breaking a man’s heart however the video tells a different story; Instead of visually telling the story of a man who is broken hearted, Rihanna tells the story of a woman who is raped after a party.

I checked out various blog sites to see what people thought of the video. Some thought it was beautiful and were glad to finally see a story line. Others were outraged that Rihanna would premiere a video about such violence (rape and murder). While I wasn’t expecting this storyline to be portrayed in the video, I’m not mad at all that Rihanna took this route. I do not think it’s anything worse than what we’ve seen on television and it has people talking about a topic that is not discussed enough.
The video is completely different than the oversexed Rihanna we’ve seen. Has anyone else noticed that she has toned down her image at various events recently? Would you rather see this video or see a R&B artist wearing a strip of cloth and throwing their goodies everywhere? Now what message do those videos send to young girls? We have seen a lot worse in videos than what was portrayed in “Man Down.” Believe me, when it comes to music videos, we’ve seen a lot worse than what was portrayed in “Man Down.”
What to do you think of the video?
I LOVE “All Of The Lights” from Kanye West’s most recent album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. However, the video is not as impressive; it won’t have people talking like his “Runway” and “Power” videos. It begins with a little girl walking the streets of New York and then it randomly transitions to a lot of bright colors. Fellas, you all will definitely enjoy Rihanna’s appearance.
Rihanna released her new video, “S&M”, flaunting her freaky side while responding to media about her bad girl persona:
“Cause I may be bad but I’m perfectly good at it. Sex in the air. I don’t care, I love the smell of it. Sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me.”
Well alright then! The video is colorful and playful; she somehow gets away with pushing the sex envelope without going TOO overboard like other artists. However, the song isn’t great. Like her previous single, “What’s My Name?,” it sounds like she’s singing the same 2 lines over and over again (although, What’s My Name?” is my jam!)

What do you think of her new video?? I see the red wig still looks a mess! Just in case you were wondering, S&M stands for Sadomasochism.
While catching up on my Google Reader, I came across news about Rihanna’s new perfume. It looks like she is following in the footsteps of other celebrities (Beyonce and Mariah Carey) by launching her own perfume, Reb’l Fleur. The official launch is in February 2011, but the perfume is currently available at Macy’s. The bottle is reminiscent of an upside down high heel and the scent is influenced by Rihanna’s childhood in Barbados featuring notes of tuberose, violet, hibiscus, and coconut water. I’m not surprised she has a new perfume coming out in a couple months; she’s an international entertainer so it was only a matter of time before she began to expand her brand.
I currently own Beyonce’s Heat and Mariah Carey’s first fragrance and I absolutely love them! I’m anxious to get my hands on Rihanna’s new fragrance. Will you try it when it comes out in February? Looks like this may be a great Valentine’s Day gift for the ladies.
