Wear to Work Wednesday: Navy Graphic Sweater

Wearing a plain sweater with a statement necklace or over a button up shirt (and a statement necklace) can get mundane pretty quickly. If you want to change things up with your sweater collection, consider adding a graphic sweater to your wardrobe. They are an easy way to have some fun with the looks you wear to work. On their own, they may appear to be too casual, but paired with the right structured pieces, graphic sweaters can be worn in the office.

As you know, monochromatic is a trend this fall season. Wearing one color elongates you, giving the illusion you are taller than you are. One great way to wear a navy graphic sweater is to pair it with a pair of navy wide leg trousers. The great thing about wide leg pants is that they make your legs look longer. They give the illusion of curves for those ladies who have boyish frames and they balance out the top half of a woman who is bigger on top. Accent your navy sweater and pant with grey accents - heels and a wool coat. Use your handbag to add a pop of color and you’re all set for the office!

The second option is to pair a navy graphic sweater with a tan tweed skirt and the accents of the 2015 color of the year, Marsala. It’s a great color to combine with navy as well as mustard, as I demonstrated in this wear to work look. A pencil skirt is a wardrobe classic. Structured skirts, meaning those that aren’t of a jersey knit, are the best option for a classic silhouette. Pair the look with your favorite pair of booties, tights and a brown handbag.
