What I Wore: Winter Brunch in DC

We are into the 5th year of A Diva State of Mind. Can you believe it?! To keep things fresh and (hopefully) interesting, I’m adding “What I Wore” posts to the mix!

It’s no secret that I rather post pictures of clients and fashion projects I’ve worked on, but I thought why not showcase some of my own outfits on the blog a little more often? I’ll be showcasing my style and sharing links to where you can purchase the same or similar pieces! Consider it an Outfit of the Day (#OOTD on Instagram) post with a little more detail.

On Saturday, I went to brunch at Sette Osteria in Dupont Circle to celebrate two of my lovely friend’s 30th birthday! Saturday was FRIGID outside, so it can sometimes be challenging to be stylish in such extreme temperatures. For brunch, I stuck to my casual chic aesthetic: jeans + heels (or heeled ankle boots in this case). I got these brown boots from GUESS and haven’t worn them as often as I should, so I figured brunch would be the perfect opportunity to wear them again. Oh and the slouch socks? I thought I’d bring back the 90s trend!

Waistcoat - ZARA; Bag - Lauren Merkin; Booties - GUESS

Now the statement piece…ZARA Hand Made Camel Wool Long Waistcoat! Swoon! I had my eye on that coat for MONTHS but of course I didn’t buy it when I had a chance to and it sold out. I decided I didn’t need it until it came across my radar again a few weeks ago and I couldn’t pass it up. Thank you eBay! Oh and I had on a Northface over this outfit. I just took it off to snap the picture since it was a little dark in the restaurant. The waistcoat is NOT warm enough to wear on its own in 20 degree weather.

You can shop the waistcoat HERE and GUESS booties HERE. Recreate the rest of my outfit with the pieces below:

Sette Osteria offers brunch on Saturday and Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm. Their menu includes $15 unlimited mimosas and bellinis! The food and drinks were really good and the restaurant is reasonably priced. Perfect for a sunny (yet cold) Saturday afternoon.

Cheers!
