Marsha Ambrosius Addresses Sexual Abuse In “Without You” Video

Marsha Ambrosius isn’t one to shy away from social issues in her music videos. In her “Far Away” video, she brought awareness to bullying and suicide. In her video for “Late Nights & Early Mornings,” she visually displayed the consequences of not having safe sex. In her latest video for “Without You,” she reflects on a painful past of sexual child abuse, which won’t allow her to open her heart to Ne-Yo who wants to pursue a relationship with her.

As always, the video is deep but serves as the backdrop to a great song.

I can’t wait for Marsha Ambrosius to release her new album Friends & Lovers which is expected to be released early next year.

Now Playing: Daley “Alone Together” Feat. Marsha Ambrosius

When I first heard the song “Alone Together,” I thought it was a Marsha Ambrosius song. After all, it’s been two years since she released Late Night, Early Mornings. I heard the song again last night and thought to myself “I need to download this ASAP!” I searched “Alone Together Marsha Ambrosius” online and the UK artist Daley popped up. Turns out, it’s his song and she’s featured on it.

No I’m not crazy. If you heard the song you’d think it just her singing too. Marsha Ambrosius and Daley sound so much alike! Without the visuals, it sounds like one person singing.

Either way, it’s a beautiful song and I can’t wait to add it to my playlist. Check it out!

Ambrosius “Late Nights & Early Mornings” Video Highlights Importance Of Safe Sex

Songtress Marsha Ambrosius  released a new video for her next single “Late Nights & Early Mornings” from her current album Late Nights & Early Mornings. I love this song (actually I love the entire album) and the video; Ambrosius delivers a very strong message.

Considering I recently wrote a blog post on women carrying condoms, this video could not have been more on time! We are shown two women who engage in sexual relations with their significant other.  Both women pull out protection before doing the do; one women uses protection while the other listens to her partner and does not which turns out to be a life altering decision.

Ladies, if your partner objects to using protection, he is not worthy of the cookies. Plain & simple!! Wrap it up and know your status and your partner’s status.

If you haven’t done so already, please do yourself a favor and get your hands on a copy of Marsha Ambrosius album Late Nights & Early Mornings!!

Marsha Ambrosius “Far Away” Video Sends A Powerful Message

The fabulous and talented Marsha Ambrosius released a video for her new single “Far Away” and it sends a powerful message.  Over the past few months, we have heard multiple stories about gay and lesbian teenagers committing suicide because they were bullied. Ambrosius brings the issue of bullying to light.

She shares her own experience with suicide, addressing fans at the end of the video.  She hopes her music will help save the life of someone contemplating suicide:

Dear friends, ever year over 1 million people commit SUICIDE. Some were BULLIED because of their SEXUALITY. I lost a friend to SUICIDE, and I’m asking all of you to support alternative lifestyles. Don’t put up with or join in with BULLYING. It’s time we become more aware in this WORLD. Take a responsibility to make a difference. So if my MUSIC can save one life, I’ve done my job.

The video is definitely powerful and you’ll be moved after watching it.  Regardless of your ideals, bullying someone because they are different than society’s norms” is NEVER justified!!

Ambrosius‘ album Late Nights & Early Mornings is schedule to be released March 1, 2011. I can’t wait!!!

NEW MUSIC: Kelly Price “Tired”

I heard this song months ago on WPGC 95.5. I don’t know if this is a sign that Kelly Price is back, but for now, she released this single speaking for every (black) woman out there! I got chills when I heard this song for the first time.

She sings with so much power and passion you can’t help but feel like raising a hand in praise!  As I mentioned when I shared with you the new song by Miguel & J Cole, R&B is making it’s way back this Fall. Is this a sign Kelly Price will be joining other artists (Marsha Ambrosius and  Jasmine Sullivan) we’re all looking forward to hearing?!

“Hope She Cheats On You (With A Basketball Player)”

When a man does a woman wrong, she is scorned. She either seeks revenge or moves on and allows karma to take its course. Marsha Ambrosius’ (from Floetry) latest single “Hope He Cheats On You (with A Basketball Player)”, may be the next anthem for every woman who has ever been done wrong by their significant other.  She holds nothing back with this single, letting us know how she, and every woman done wrong, REALLY feels!

I listened to the song a few times and the more I listened to it, the catchier the song becomes. I know a few people that are going to LOVE this one!

The single is the first off of Ambrosius’ debut album Late Nights & Early Morning that will be released this fall.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE NEW SINGLE???
